Echoes in Motion

Echoes in Motion brought South African and Korean artists together to explore how bodies carry memory across continents. Through drawing, movement, sound, and generative technologies, the project examined the body as a living archive — a site where histories are felt, not only recorded.
South African artist Luzuko Dayile presented ten hand-drawn works and a video created through his “Flip-Book Effect,” transforming gesture into time-based motion while preserving the tactility of the hand. Korean artist SunJeong Hwang performed Telluric Rhythm, Anacrusis Body and exhibited generative installations from her Tanhamu series, weaving AI, ecology, and choreography into sensory rituals of memory.
A roundtable with Dayile, Hwang, Roxanne Konco (INFINI3), and Suhun Lee (Saranghwae) expanded the conversation into Afro–Asian exchange, embodied archives, and the role of technology in shaping future communal memory.

Echoes in Motion은 남아프리카와 한국의 예술가들이 몸을 ‘기억의 아카이브’로 바라보며 교차하는 프로젝트다. 드로잉, 움직임, 사운드, 생성 기술을 통해 몸이 어떻게 역사를 저장하고 전하는지 탐구했다.
남아프리카 작가 루주코 다일레는 전통 춤에서 영감을 받은 10점의 드로잉과 ‘플립북 효과’ 영상 작업을 선보이며 제스처를 시간 기반의 움직임으로 변환했다. 한국 작가 황선정은 Telluric Rhythm, Anacrusis Body 퍼포먼스와 Tanhamu 시리즈의 생성 설치 작품을 통해 AI, 생태, 안무를 결합한 감각적 기억의 의식을 펼쳤다.
라운드테이블에는 다일레, 황선정, 록스앤 콩코(INFINI3), 이수훈(사랑회)이 참여해 아프로–아시아 교류, 체화된 아카이브, 기술과 기억의 미래에 대해 논의했다.
